Notes
From 1469 (?) to 1888 the choir stall belonged to the Abbazia di San Donato in Sesto Calende (Varese). The choir stall was part of the XV century wooden choir of the benedictine abbey. The XV century wooden choir was commissioned by Niccolò Tatti, the former abbot. The XV century wooden choir was replaced by a new one, created in 1587.
The woodcuts, intended to imitate geometric wooden inlays, are applied to the (internal and external) sides and the interior of the seat.
The choir stall is now on display in Milan, Museo Bagatti Valsecchi, room no. 6: Fausto Bagatti Valsecchi's apartment - Fausto's Bedroom known as the "Valtellinese Bedroom" (Camera del Letto Valtellinese).
